What is Pindaloo?

Pindaloo is a new skills toy. I was taking a stroll around Toy Fair 2019, looking for exciting and cool toys and bumped into a guy doing crazy tricks with a tube and a ball. Immediately I got my phone out and started filming. It’s one of those things that sucks you in when someone is doing it well. As you can see from the video, the basic idea is to catch a ball in a tube which sends the ball back into the air. You then repeat the process and once you’ve got the hang, you can introduce tricks and skills.

Built with Montessori learning in mind, Pindaloo is based on the theory of stimulating children to learn through play. This makes it a great sensory toy for children with ADHD, Autism, stress and anxiety disorders and special needs.

What’s the Verdict?

I absolutely love Pindaloo. It’s such a simple idea but it ticks all the boxes. First and foremost let me say that it’s not as easy as it looks. You won’t be doing the tricks you can see in the video just yet, but this is half the fun. The challenge of getting your first few catches in a row is where your addiction may start. And if you have a couple of mates around with a competitive nature the challenge begins. I was hooked from the moment I saw it and when I showed my kids they couldn’t wait to have a go.

Pindaloo is portable, you can easily take it to the park or beach and enjoy with friends. There is no need to charge it or connect to the internet. It can improve hand eye coordination as well as fine motor skills. There are many different ways to play. It’s addictive. And on top of all that it’s cheap! What more could you ask for. It’s a big thumbs up from me.
