What is a Razor Drift Rider?

The Razor Drift Rider is an outdoor Ride-on electric scooter that combines the stability of a tricycle with a twisting cross bar and a interesting wheel configuration. This combination allows the rider to drift around corners like a racing driver. The front wheel is hooked up to a 100 watt motor which has a motorcycle styled twist controller. The Drift Rider has a high-torque, direct-drive hub motor, that powers drifting action at speeds of 9 mph (14 km/h) for up to 40 minutes of continuous use.

What’s the Verdict?

Before you can ride your Razor Drift Rider it’s important to know there is some assembly required. Therefore if you’re not used to an IKEA flat pack you may need a hand setting things up. It’s all pretty straight forward but it did take me 30mins. Also don’t think you’ll just be able to jump straight on and play with your trike. They recommend 5 hrs before the first ride. Subsequent charges are up to 5hrs depending on how depleted the battery is. 

The Drift Rider is a very unique ride-on. There’s isn’t anything else quite like it on the market. And this is solely due to the 3D steering system. Riders can lean into a turn and understeer to drift with unrivalled control. My kids absolutely love this toy/gadget and there are no objections to going out with it even in the blistering cold. We set up a course at our local park and have been bettering times at any opportunity. I am even on the leaderboard.

The only downside is that even though it’s a trike it is prone to tipping when spinning to fast. Having said that in this situation everyone I have seen naturally puts their feet down avoiding any accidents.

The Razor Drift Rider is competitively priced at £249.99. Which is middle to top end of the ride-on category. Highly recommended for great outdoor fun. 10/10
