What are Hot Wheels Maker Kitz?

Hot Wheels Maker Kitz are the Hot Wheels™ cars YOU build. They come with pop out the pre-cut plastic panels a bit like flat pack furniture. Then you snap the parts together (no tools, glue or screws necessary) and away you go. Each car comes with not 1 but 2x turbo pull back motors that chalk up scale speeds of up to 300mph.

As well as building the car they all come with access to an online S.T.E.M activity sheet. For those not familiar with S.T.E.M it’s a curriculum that educates students in four specific disciplines — science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

What’s the Verdict?

I think Hot Wheels Maker Kitz are great. Remember the toys you used to get inside those chocolate eggs? (I don’t want to write the brand name). Remember how you wanted the toy cars to be even better? Your wish just came through 10 fold. Not only are they easy to assemble, but they perform well and look even better. I had one racing along the kitchen floor at quite a rate.

Once built the cars are fairly robust, meaning they can take a few knocks and come out on the other side. Even if you do need to clip things back together on occasion. There are bonus points for the fact that no batteries are required and graphics are already printed on the parts. And the downloadable S.T.E.M activity sheet to help you work out your scale speed, definitely ticks the educational box. Parents will feel a bit more comfortable about buying one of these.

The only small problem for me was going over bumps threw it off course because it’s so light. But this made for cool crashes. At £9.99 you can’t really go wrong.
