On Thursday April 16th 2015, Nigel attended Star Wars Celebration 2015 at the Empire cinema in Leicester Sq. The event was held in a staggering 23 countries around the world. And the flagship event in Anaheim, Los Angeles was broadcast to all the other locations via simulcast. Attendees at the Anaheim event included JJ Abrahms, Kathleen Kennedy, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, and new cast members John Boyega and Daisy Ridley. The best thing about this event  is that Star Wars fans of all ages, all over the world, arrive dressed as their favourite characters. Expectations were high, they all wanted the same thing, an insight, a poster, a plot, a trailer. Anything about the new Star Wars film. Episode VII : The Force awakens.

What was the mood like?

They were not disappointed. The tension and excitement of the main event in Los Angeles could be felt all over the world. And when things finally kicked off, waves of elation reverberated through all of the venues. There was shouting, screaming, lightsaber waving and general Jedi movements in ‘The Force’. We met the new Stormtroopers who marched out to their theme music in full uniform, looking slicker than ever before. We met the new droid BB8. Before finally seeing the brand new trailer where we caught our first glimpse of Star Wars favourites Hans Solo and Chewbacca. Check out the highlights in the video below. When the screening was finished, I managed to get an interview with Warwick Davis. He was lucky enough to have been in Star Wars Episode VI – Return of the Jedi. Check out the video below to see what he had to say. The whole Star Wars Celebration 2015 was fantastic and definitely increased the buzz surrounding this film phenomenon.
