Holly Smale Interview

Here is a little interview I did with Holly Smale at an exclusive Geek Girl Party. The event was held to celebrate the release of the new book Forever Geek.

Geek Girl – Forever Geek – Book 6

It’s nearly here, the 9th of March sees the release of the 6th and final book in the Geek Girl series, ‘Forever Geek’. Hailed as the first author to bring geek back to the teen fiction genre, Holly Smale published the first book back in March 2013. The book became the no. 1 bestselling debut young adult fiction title in the UK. And it also went on to win the teen category of the Waterstones Children’s Book Prize. The excitement among fans and this book is about how the Harriet, Jasper and Nick love triangle will turn out. Who will Harriet end up with and will it be happy ever after? Only time will tell. We have a competition where you could win a signed copy but first…

What are the Geek Girl books about?

The Geek Girl books follow the interesting and humorous life of fifteen year old Harriet Manners. A girl who is not the trendiest or coolest around but has an incredible knowledge of facts. One day Harriet has a chance meeting and is spotted by a model agency. This sparks a change in her life which we follow on its ups and downs over the 6 books.

They say life imitates art and in this case it may be more true than we know. Author Holly Smale was indeed spotted by a top London modelling agency at the age of fifteen and spent the following two years falling over on catwalks, going bright red and breaking things she couldn’t afford to replace. Who knows what little gems from her life have ended up in the Geek Girl books.
