An interview with children’s author Ross Welford
Happy New Year!! Can you believe its already 2018? Before we get fully immersed in it I have a treat for you. Just before Christmas I interviewed children’s author Ross Welford for a Harper Collins Facebook Live. Ross was a journalist and tv producer but he gave all that up to become a full-time writer. Unlike some of my other interviews we got to spend a good amount of time talking about his books and his journey through literature. If you have time I definitely recommend watching the full video which you can find below. Especially if you are interested in becoming a writer yourself.
What did we talk about?
We talked about all manor of things, from his favourite author, to his fascination with magic. From his almost forced start as an author to his love of illustration. And we touched on all 3 of his books. Time travelling with a Hamster, What not to do if you turn invisible, and his latest The 1000 year old Boy. It was thoroughly interesting to get an insight into the way he works and the way he thinks.
Not only was he a lovely guest, but he also organised for 2 full sets of his books to give away as prizes to readers of my blog. All of which he will sign for the winners. Details on how you can enter this competition are at the bottom of this page.
Ross Welford’s latest book ‘The 1000 year old Boy’ is available from January 11th 2018 from all major retailers. And if you want to read more about him make sure you check out the Ross Welford Blog. For now, I hope you enjoy this wonderful interview.
