What was the Fruit Shoot Skills Tour?
In the summer of 2013 Nigel went on the Nickelodeon and Fruit Shoot Skills Tour. The tour took him all over the UK with the Fruit Shoot Skills Crew. A talented group of young individuals with incredible and varied skills.
Who was in the crew?
NC Flex (aka Nigel Clarke) – Dancer and Body Percussionist, he is the leader of the group and MC’s the crews shows.
Drew Hoops (aka Andrew Wilding) – The UK’s leading Basketball Freestyler, he has dedicated himself to learning near impossible tricks.
Connor Stringer (Boost) – A Freerunner and urban gymnast, he is an explosive performer that takes the crew to the next level.
Laura Kicks (aka Laura Biondo) – One of the worlds leading female football freestylers, she has tricks for days.
Matti Axel (aka Matti Hemmings) – The Uk’s number 1 Flatland BMXer, with 2 world records to his name.
Roxy (aka Bgirl Roxy) – One of the UK’s leading Bgirls, with a head spin that is legendary.
What did they do? And where did they go?
The crew travelled the country putting on amazing performances that showcased each of their skills and talents. As well as the shows, there was the opportunity to take part in workshops with the various members of the team. This was a great way to encourage young people to develop their own talents, to get up, to be active and to try new things.
Finally if attendees wanted the could have their very own skills recorded by the Nickelodeon film crew. These were then featured online in the Nickelodeon Skills zone. And hence entered into the competition for Fruit Shoot Breakthrough Award at the 20013 Skills Awards!
